Lonya by Mstudio
Mstudio is the first french speaking VC startup studio based in Abidjan, Cote d'ivoire. Lead by Leslie Ossete and Cedric Mangaud. They launched Lonya, an innovative e-learning platform and marketplace. I met the CEO of Lonya, working on the MVP phase in order to kick-off this e-learning startup. By the time, they were in the go to market / seeding phase.

The problem
Lonya, a startup in Ivory Coast, sought to develop a robust instructional design framework to guide the creation of their first Minimum Viable Product (MVP) training content. The challenge was to outline a comprehensive roadmap and assurance checklist while incorporating key design steps, video scripting techniques, and instructional design principles.
The solution
I led the development of an Instructional Design Evaluation Framework tailored specifically for Lonya's e-learning initiative. This framework aimed to provide a clear roadmap and methodology for designing effective training content, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and investor readiness.
My process
To create the Instructional Design Evaluation Framework, I followed a structured approach:
-
Research and Analysis: Conducted in-depth research on instructional design best practices, analyzing Lonya's objectives and learner profiles to inform the framework's development.
-
Content Mapping and Action Plan: Mapped out key design steps, from needs analysis to content development and evaluation. Created a detailed action plan outlining specific tasks and timelines for each phase.
-
Visual Mockups and Prototyping: Developed visual mockups and prototypes to illustrate the envisioned training content format, including sample video scripts and interactive elements.

Action Map
The action map outlined the following key steps within the Instructional Design Evaluation Framework:

Needs Analysis: Understanding learner profiles, goals, and organizational objectives.
Content Design: Mapping out learning objectives, topics, and instructional strategies in collaboration with the Lonya CEO that granted the drafted learning content via canva.
Development: Creating MVP training roadmap and evaluation framework based on design principles and scripting guidelines.
Quality Assurance: Implementing checks and revisions to ensure content effectiveness and alignment with the framework.

As the client had budget constraint, they developed content based on feedback and avisory calls we had about proper content development, using canva.

Final form development
At this point, I had designed the whole framework with 3 evaluation levels : from instructional key steps and quality insurance checklist, video script methods to framework harmonization depending on needs. Here are some extracts:

Takeaways

-
Strategic Roadmap: The framework provided a step-by-step roadmap for developing and deploying the MVP training content, essential for securing investor support and scaling the e-learning pilot.
-
Design Assurance Checklist: Quality assurance guidelines ensured the training content met industry standards and learner needs.
-
Video Scripting Guidelines: Techniques for crafting engaging and effective video scripts were included to enhance learner engagement.
